The Association of Human Resource Management Professionals (AHRMP) joins the wider HR and business community in mourning the sudden passing of our colleague and fellow HR professional, Ms. Nancy Joseph.

Nancy devoted many years of her professional life to Human Resource Management, building a career characterised by growth, commitment and service across several sectors. Her HR journey included J.E. Bergasse & Company Ltd., where she progressed from HR Supervisor to Human Resource Manager, followed by senior HR leadership roles with KPMG, BDO Eastern Caribbean and Caribbean Grains. In 2022, she joined the St. Lucia Development Bank as Manager Human Resources, the position she held at the time of her passing.

Her service extended beyond the organisations in which she worked. Nancy served as a Board Member of the St. Lucia Employers’ Federation and was also a member of the Caribbean Society for HR Professionals (CSHRP). Through her professional affiliations and many years of practice, she remained actively connected to the wider HR and employer community, contributing to the development and advancement of Human Resource Management in Saint Lucia and the Caribbean.

A career is ultimately measured by more than titles, positions or years of service. It is measured by the lives we touch, the people we support, the wisdom we share and the difference our presence makes along the way. Long after the work is done, it is these human connections and the impact we leave behind that become our legacy.

For many within our HR community, Nancy was not simply another HR professional. She was one of us; a colleague, a peer and a familiar presence within our professional community. Her sudden passing is deeply felt and reminds us just how precious the relationships and connections we form along the way truly are.

Today, we pause not only to acknowledge Nancy’s professional accomplishments, but to honour the woman behind them and the years she gave in service to people, organisations and the HR profession. Her journey has ended far sooner than any of us could have expected, but the life she lived, the relationships she built and the work she did will remain part of the story of Human Resource Management in Saint Lucia.

The Board and Members of AHRMP extend our heartfelt condolences to Nancy’s family, friends, colleagues, the team at the St. Lucia Development Bank, and all those who knew and worked alongside her. May they find comfort in the memories they shared with her, strength in the community that surrounds them, and reassurance in knowing that Nancy’s life and service will be remembered.
